Oregon lawmakers are returning to Salem Monday to take a look at issues they think can't wait until their next legislative session.
It's the first round of so-called "Legislative Days" since lawmakers adjourned their regular session earlier this summer. It's a chance for policy-makers to check out the real-world impact of some of the bills they passed.
That includes a program meant to waive community college tuition for some low-income students. Another update comes from marijuana regulators on the eve of the start to retail recreational pot sales in Oregon.
One item not on the agenda: After initially agreeing to a GOP request for a hearing on the Oregon branch of Planned Parenthood, Democrats pulled the plug. House Speaker Tina Kotek said she feared the hearing would turn into a political stunt.
